INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF MONODRAMA AND MIME 2010

The preparations for the next 35th Festival have already begun, and it is going to take place from July 1st to 4th 2010. Our intention is to promote the finest works in performing arts speaking universal language. In order to fulfill this, we seek your assistance in spreading this information in your country.
This festival has been traditionally taking place in Belgrade since 1971. A number of renowned artists from Serbia and abroad participated at the festival. The venue for the upcoming festival’s edition is Theatre Pinokio, 9 Karadjordjeva St, 11080 Zemun. The special jury will award Gold medal for Monodrama and Gold medal for Mime performance.
Each company applying to the Festival will have to pass the selection. For the purpose of selection, please provide the recording of your show on DVD or DVX. Deadline for submitting the application is March 15th 2010. The applicants will be informed on their participation after the selection, by May 1st 2010. Companies that passed the selection will be asked to send more information and confirm their participation.

Festival of Solo Shows and Mime Awards

The jury of experts consisting of Branka Pujić, actress, Petar Zec, director and Ivana Dimić, playwright (chairman of the jury) has decided to award Peter Scherer from Hungary with gold medal for monodrama Klamm’s War.

The jury is unanimous in its decision that the Hungarian actor has distinguished himself with his interactive performance that included the audience. He has made an extraordinary creation, revealing the dark side of the human soul. He has expressed an eruptive temperament, refined acting ability, exceptional concentration and unique talent.

The jury has unanimously awarded Ana Pepine and Paul Cimpoieru from Bucharest with gold medal for their play TheTwo of Us.

The actors have managed to tell a compelling poetic parable on eternal topic of love, using their movements, skill, and delicate lyrical expressions. Both actors have shown exceptional skill in demonstrating scenic illusion.

The audience jury of the 35 Festival of monodrama and pantomime and, with its members Radica Komazec, chairman, Marija Tošković Radojičić, Slavica Štrljić, Mihajlo Dašić, Milan Ilijin – Micko, has unanimously decided to award Suzana Petričević with the audience award for the play Last Chance, by Mirjana Bobić Mojsilović.

After four days of exceptional performances, the jury had a difficult, but pleasant task to reach a decision, on their personal behalf as well as on behalf of the audience, and award only one artist for their achievement! The sensitivity and maturity Suzana Petričević expressed throughout her performance has brought the text of Mirjana Bobić Mojsilović to its perfection, accompanied by frequent and huge applause of the audience.
