About the Play
Fighting her own fears, the actress Nina is trying to play and understand the character Nina from Chekhov’s The Seagull. By playing this role, she realizes that the name they share is not the only thing they have in common; with many traits in common, she stops the play, thinking she is not good enough at what she does. She then goes with the audience on a trip to New York and Broadway, where she experienced the most beautiful and hardest moments of her life. She opens up to the audience, and in a comical yet emotional way, she shares her experiences, problems, and fears through music and dance. On that trip, she tries to understand if fame is the only thing that matters in life – or is it self-love and faith in one’s dreams, as the essence of life and acting. Chekhov’s Nina helps her, but the essence is captured by little Nina, the child in her who only wants to play and believes unconditionally and without reserves.
