ABOUT THE PLAY
"Not Giving Up" is the story of an actress who, at the moment of getting the award, is faced with the dilemma of whether she should accept the recognition or finally come to terms with the system she fought against throughout her career. At the moment of the ceremony, she going through all the professional and life situations that preceded this triumph. This is a story about a woman in the modern world and the challenges that come with ambition, partnership, motherhood, and most of all, her own insecurities and fears.
The project was realized with the support of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, the Serbian National Theatre, the Association of Dramatic Artists of Vojvodina and the City Administration for Culture - City of Novi Sad
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Marija Medenica, was born in Belgrade on July 23rd , 1981., after completing high school in Obrenovac and three years of study at the group for Serbian literature and language at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, enrolled in acting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, in the class of Professor Boris Isaković, and since May 2008, she has been employed at the Serbian National Theater, but she has also took a roll in other theater plays, as well as in films. For fifteen years, she ran the drama studio "Ćoše" in Obrenovac, where, in addition to teaching, she also directed. She received her doctorate at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2022.
