I have played the role of Duke Janko Katić close to 800 times now, promoting the core values of epic poetry as something which is very much alive and relevant to our age. This value systems holds as the highest ideals one’s word, nobility, honor, sense of justice, love of truth and above all the fight for freedom, and sees them as the greatest virtues of the Serbian people. This play serves to remind us of our glorious ancestors, whose progeny we are not only in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense as well! Milovan Vitezović, as the well-known history buff and wise man that he is, doesn’t miss the opportunity to emphasize wisdom and the importance of education through the character of Janko Katić and from time to time tosses us universal truths about life and the world, to guide us in nurturing our character and maintaining harmony with ourselves as well as others so that we can help in creating a better, happier and more just world.
Cultural and Educational Association of Serbia has supported the performance of this monodrama, valuing its authentic approach in promoting the traditions and culture of Serbia.

Aleksandar Dunić
Aleksandar Dunić was born in Belgrade (1967). He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He is a long-time resident-artist of the Terazije Theatre but he has performed in other Belgrade theatres as well. He has earned widespread fame for playing in many tv series, most noted of which are: The Constellation of White Mulberry Tree (Sazvežđe belog duda), The End of the Obrenović Dynasty (Kraj dinastije Obrenović), Happy people (Srećni ljudi), Family Treasure (Porodično blago), The Dollars are Coming (Stižu dolari), White Ship (Bela lađa).
