The tragic life of Isadora Duncan is above all, marked by love and passion. The purpose of her existence was a search for happiness and freedom. She rarely made compromises, and when she did, she was miserable. Dancing came naturally to her. Always present, it was an essential part of her being. The main quality of Isadora Duncan was neither her dance nor her beauty, but her uninhibited vitality which enchanted the viewers. She had, what we would today call, the ‘x factor’. On the other hand, Isadora Duncan put the Modern into Modern Dance, as a true pioneer, she despised and broke away from the classical ballet canon, costumes and tutus. At the core of her art lies rebellion. This play speaks of all of this. Most of all, it speaks of passion and rebelliousness. And an eternal love affair with art.
